Caring For Creatures, in partnership with LAZY DAISY Ceramics, Inc., are in the process of taking orders for the last 64 tiles of the Memory Wall. Novella and Sonny Mawyer along with their daughter, Tara, have been operating Lazy Daisy Ceramics, Inc. in Charlottesville, VA since 1977. Their operation is impressive and we are excited about having their creative genius available to us for this project.
DEDICATION OF THE MEMORY WALL WILL BE JUNE 21, 2008 - PLEASE ORDER YOUR TILES BY MAY 15, VIA OUR SECURE WEBSITE, ANNOTATING TILE DESCRIPTION

Call or email us to receive a Memory Wall tile reservation form, or download the form in PDF format.
We
envision the Memory Wall to be a visual expression of the love and joy that
was experienced between its sponsors and their animal and/or human friends and
family that have passed on. Each 4" tile will be a colorful memorial that will
be enjoyed by all who view it. How can you be a part of this unique and fun
project? The first step is to reserve one or more tiles with your tax-deductible
donation of \$100 (per tile) and provide us with the name(s) of the animal or
human being memorialized. The folks at Lazy Daisy will paint and glaze each
tile with a design and include the name of the individual or animal you provided.
Each tile will be unique yet contribute to an overall design - sort of like
a patchwork quilt!
For those of you living in or near the Charlottesville area, perhaps you would enjoy creating your own tile. If so, we have made arrangements with Lazy Daisy for you to design and paint your Memory Wall tile right at their shop. In fact, if we have a large enough group of individuals choosing to do their own tiles, we will schedule one or more design sessions at Lazy Daisy and have a Memory Wall painting party. It's fun and therapeutic all at the same time! If the thought of having to paint freehand sends you into a panic or if you live too far away, the folks at Lazy Daisy are open to your ideas or suggestions regarding a tile design. Just draw a 4" square on a piece of paper and provide a basic sketch of what you would like to see on your tile. Designs should be kept simple and of course, appropriate for the tile size and the overall intent of the Memory Wall.
